Self-Hosted Plausible

Your own privacy-friendly web analytics, running on your server.

Plausible Community Edition is a lightweight, open-source alternative to traditional web analytics. On Kumo2 you can deploy the official CE Docker stack in one click: Plausible, Postgres, and ClickHouse are launched together on a cloud server you control, with a direct IP endpoint to get started quickly.

Features

Privacy-friendly analytics

Measure page views, referrers, campaigns, goals, and countries without turning your site analytics into a third-party tracking dashboard.

Official CE Docker stack

Kumo launches the Plausible Community Edition image with Postgres for application data and ClickHouse for event storage.

IP access first, domain when ready

The instance starts at http://SERVER_IP:8000. For production, point DNS to the server, place it behind your reverse proxy, and update BASE_URL.

Persistent event storage

Postgres, ClickHouse, event logs, and Plausible runtime data are stored on Docker volumes so restarts keep your analytics intact.

What you can do with it

  • Track product sites, docs, blogs, and launch pages on infrastructure you control.
  • Give teams a simple analytics dashboard without wiring up a large marketing suite.
  • Keep first-party analytics close to your app, reverse proxy, and server logs.

Personal sites, small product pages, and early analytics workloads with the 2 GB RAM recommended by Plausible CE.

Growing Site

2 vCPU / 4 GB RAM / 60 GB SSD

More memory headroom for multiple websites, longer retention, and regular dashboard use.

Production Analytics

4 vCPU / 8 GB RAM / 120 GB SSD

Higher-traffic sites and teams that want more ClickHouse headroom for imports, reports, and spikes.

Frequently asked questions

What is self-hosted Plausible?

It is Plausible Community Edition running on a server that belongs to your account. You control the VM, Docker stack, data location, and network exposure.

What services are deployed?

Kumo deploys the official Plausible CE application image, Postgres 16 for relational data, and ClickHouse 24.12 for event analytics, using the low-resource ClickHouse configuration from the CE repository.

How do I access it after deployment?

Open http://SERVER_IP:8000 and create the first user. The deployment output shows the exact endpoint for your server.

Can I use my own domain and HTTPS?

Yes. Point DNS to the server, run Plausible behind your reverse proxy or TLS setup, then update BASE_URL in /opt/plausible/.env and restart Docker Compose.

What size should I choose?

Plausible CE recommends at least 2 GB of RAM because ClickHouse is part of the stack. Start with Starter Analytics for small sites, use Growing Site for more headroom, and choose Production Analytics for higher-traffic teams.

Ready to deploy your own Plausible?

Spin it up on a server you control. We handle provisioning and Docker — you keep the keys.
